Dunn is one of the original pioneers of NHRA Drag Racing and began his career as a competitor in 1950. Since he retired from driving in 1990, Dunn's career has continued to flourish as a respected crew chief, technical adviser, and car owner. In 2001, Dunn was voted No. 27 on NHRA's list of the Top 50 Drivers of its first 50 years, and in 2006, he was given the great honor of induction into the International Drag Racing Hall of Fame.

Heartland Park Topeka is a 650+ acre motorsports facility located in Topeka, KS. It boasts a NHRA drag strip which is home to a NHRA Mello Yello National Event each year, as well as the Country Stampede and other national and regional events. The facility is also home to a 14 turn, 2.5 mile road course and drifting pad.
The '68 Firebird, affectionately known as the "Turbo Pig" can be seen at Pro Mod races throughout the country. With an NHRA event win in 2013, the Satterfield racing team is a competitive force among the Pro Mod ranks.
